What is a B15 bulb?

The base of a bulb is called the cap. Depending on the fittings in your home, you may require one of several main cap fittings, including Edison Screw (ES) and Bayonet (B). Home fittings designed to accommodate classic ‘push and twist’ bulbs require Bayonet caps. Depending on the diameter of the fitting in millimetres, you may need either a B15 bulb (Bayonet style cap with a 15 mm diameter) or a B22 bulb (Bayonet style cap with a 22mm diameter). Because B15 bulb caps are smaller in size than B22 caps, the term Small Bayonet Cap (SBC) is sometimes used.

Why choose a B15 LED bulb?

Our popular choice of B15 LED bulbs not only offers low wattage and environmentally friendly home lighting, but LED technology is also efficient in terms of lifespan. Older candescent bulbs typically deliver a lifespan of around 1,000 hours (or about 42 days of continuous use). In comparison, our advanced B15 LED bulb options deliver a lifespan of 10,000 - 20,000 hours or more, which represents almost a thousand days of continuous use (some LED bulbs can last up to 50,000 hours).
