When we decided to sponsor Salford City FC we saw it as a partnership and wanted to be part of their rise and help them evolve in to the football powerhouse that the Class Of 92 dream of. The obvious start was to help them upgrade their lighting. Salford didn’t have any LED lighting which meant they were using inadequate and inefficient lights in the clubhouse, bar, stand and around the ground. Fitting our LED lights would improve security, safety and save a huge 90% on the lighting we fitted.
Our task was given more urgency as Salford were now obliged to meet certain requirements for their big FA Cup match at Moor Lane versus Notts County. Thankfully our electrical partners 1-eclectrical helped us to get the ground ready for the historical tie. The Ammies went on to win the game 2-0 to progress to the next round again at Moor Lane this time against Hartlepool. Salford’s bar used traditional fittings and bulbswhich gave dull light and was needlessly costing them money to run. We fitted our 600 x 600 LED panels with surface mounted brackets as they don’t have a suspended ceiling. This has now given them a better quality of light and will be kinder on their bills.
In the clubhouse before our upgrade halogen spotlights were the primary light source. Now Salford’s fans can chat about the day’s game in a cleaner environment safe in the knowledge that their club is saving on energy costs.
Most of the lights we fitted for Salford were around the ground for added safety needed for the increased sell out capacity for the FA cup game. This included replacing old halogen lights with new LED security lights in access and communal areas such as the ticket booth and entrance.
The stand was the biggest project which we tackled. Due to Salford’s new status they required an area for the press, something very new to them! Although very modest and not what Gary Neville would be used to at Sky Sports, they now have a lit area for press to sit and work in the main stand.
To increase visibility at the side of the pitch for supporters we fitted 5 LED flood lights, providing a warm glow on night games. It was important that this light wasn’t to encroach on the field to avoid distracting players. Our 360
° flood lights were vital in directing the light exactly where it was needed.
The last job was to literally light up Salford City Football Club. The club's crest and logo was only ever viewable in the daytime and often missed. A club with ambitions and the stature of Salford need their name in lights. We helped make this so…….
