How to Setup a Philips Hue Smart Lighting System

It's easy to set up a Philips Hue smart lighting system. Simply follow the instructions below and you'll be up and running in no time! Plug in your light bulbs and turn on your light switches as usual. 
Plug in the Hue Bridge at the mains with the provided plug and connect your bridge to your WiFi router with the supplied LAN cable. 
Next, you will need to download and install the Hue App from App Store or Google Play. 
At this point you should ensure that all three lights on your Hue Bridge are blue and that you have pressed the button in the middle of the bridge. If the lights aren't blue hold the middle button on the bridge. 
When all three lights are blue, open the app and go to "settings". Tap "Hue Bridges" and allow your phone to connect to the bridge. 
You are now connected, and the fun can begin! You will now be able to see all of your linked items within the app:

Select the item you want to control: 
Choose either "Colour", "White", or preset "Recipes". Here colour is selected:

With all of the different colours, shades and preset recipes to choose from, the effects you can create are limited only by your imagination! No matter the room, occasion or mood you are in, there;s the perfect light setting for you.
